Mission Statement

In August 2002 Trinity Lutheran Congregation updated its mission statement: words that continue to drive our transformation as the Body of Christ in our community:

• We witness to the healing, loving and sustaining presence of God in the midst of life, specifically as a Lutheran Community of Christian faith based in Word and Sacrament.

• We acknowledge the great spiritual and cultural diversity of the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood and respect, support and affirm the dignity of all people and their specific faiths and cultural frameworks.

• We believe that, as an important part of the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, our mission is to do as Jesus did through word and deed: help feed the hungry, heal the broken, help bear their burdens, thereby being a Christian presence and living out the Word in our lives.

• We invite everyone in the neighborhood to learn more about our Christian faith through our examples as we live out our faith and witness to our faith in words as well as in deeds.
