What we do? Provide Free Tutoring to All Students.

Students who attend Safe Place: Homework Help will receive personalized attention from volunteers to help them successfully complete homework assignments and understand concepts. There are also opportunities for students to play games and do crafts with tutors.

Who Can Come? Any Student Who Wants Help.

Students of all ages, from elementary school to community college, are welcome to attend tutoring sessions. In particular, we hope to help non-native-English-speaking students succeed in an English-based curriculum. While the majority of students who receive tutoring at Safe Place are of East African descent, we welcome students of all backgrounds who hope to learn in a friendly environment.

K-12th Grade Students:
Welcome 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm, every day Minneapolis Public Schools are in session.

Adult Learners: Welcome 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm, Mondays and Fridays. Please contact Safe Place Coordinator for more information on the Augsburg-Trinity Adult Tutoring Partnership, taking place Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from
3:30 pm - 5:30 pm in Augsburg's Foss Center.

How to Get Involved? Available Five Days a Week — Just Drop By.
• Tutoring available Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm -5:30 pm at Trinity Luther Congregation (2001 Riverside Avenue)
• No appointment necessary
• Open all days that the Minneapolis public schools are in session
